Oxyfluorfen is a diphenyl-ether herbicide used for broad spectrum pre- and
post-emergent control of annual broadleaf and grassy weeds in a variety of tree
fruit, nut, vine, and field crops. The largest agricultural markets in terms of total
pounds active ingedient are wine grapes and almonds. There are also non-
agricultural ornamental and forestry uses. Oxyfluorfen is also used for weed
control in landscapes, patios, driveways, and similar areas in residential sites.

It is use to control annual grass as well as broad leave weeds. It is absorbed principally through the roots & foliage. It inhibits photosynthesis and interferes with other enzymatic activities. It is used in combination with other herbicides.

Selective herbicides are used in lawn care or around nursery or garden plants once weeds emerge. A selective herbicide is used to kill weeds, but does not kill the valuable plant. Non-selective herbicides are the herbicide of choice for people who want to kill all vegetation in an area.
